“Another year has gone by! Amazing. Another poet benefiting from the love and generosity of Roscoe Lee Browne and all of you who work so well and so intelligently to preserve and sustain his legacy. We thank you, the poets thank you, poetry itself thanks you.”

On May 5, 2008, Laurence, Anthony, and Roscoe's friends and colleagues gathered at The Millay Colony of the Arts to celebrate his life in a ceremony that included planting a flowering apple tree, "Roscoe's Tree", on one of Steepletop's highest hills.
I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
